About the Band

So as you may have guessed, that's a picture of us there. Yup, that's what we look like. No make up, no special effects, no fancy clothes, just four guys taking a break from rehearsal for a picture that nobody really wants to pose for.

From left to right above, the band is:

Gary Broers - Guitar and Vocals
Ryan T. Higgins - Guitar and Vocals
Tim Crawford - Drums and Vocals
Wade Stringer - Bass and Vocals

Sometimes we get asked by somone to give them a blurb about the band for promotional purposes and the like. We used to give them a steaming pile of prose that read like one of those overinflated reviews off of the back of an old album cover. I was always uncomfortable with that because I had written it myself. But now, thanks to Tony Engelhart one of Seattle's very own award winning music jounalists, we have a legitimate review to pass on to the curious. Here's what Tony had to say about us in the April 13-19, 2006 issue of the Weekly Volcano.

Rockin' blues with a serious attitude describes the Ryan T. Higgins Band. Self described as just a group of guys who like to get together and play music, their sets are relaxed and uncomplicated. Formed out of an equal admiration for the blues, the band consists of Ryan T. Higgins (guitar/vocals), Gary Broers (guitar/vocals), Wade Stringer (bass) and Tim Crawford (drums). Influenced by an assortment of genres including jazz, blues, funk, soul, and good ol' rock and roll, Higgins and company put their own unique spin on every tune. Brandishing nasty guitar riffs, thunderous beats, and steady groove, the quartet resurrects blues standards from the likes of Sunny Boy, Freddy King, and Muddy Waters but also dip into classic rock standards and original material. Naturally they have been compared to everyone from Eric Clapton to Albert King but these comparisons only give you a vague description of this high energy band. While they have yet to release a CD, they have samples of their music free for the taking at www.rthigginsband.com … -Tony Engelhart

There you have it and it must be true because it was printed in a newspaper! Honestly though, I'd like to thank Tony for taking the time to check us out and even more for taking the time to write the review. We've put alot of work into being able to do what we do and its nice to get a little recognition for it. Thanks Tony we appreciate it.
